Best Asio Drivers With YourWhich one is really good for me 4 comments share save hide report 84 Upvoted This thread is archived New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast Sort by best level 1 2 points 1 year ago fl studio asio level 1 1 point 1 year ago edited 1 year ago Unless you received dedicated ASIO drivers with your audio interface or sound card, thats it.Note that dedicated drivers behave like ASIO4All ie allow just one app access to the sound hardware. Its much better than the sound card output XD Ill just adjust those and I should be good. Ill let u know, thanks level 1 1 point 1 year ago RME drivers allow multiple programs to access its single driver. I also had an old firewire Mackie unit that operated the same, but it operated best at about 12ms though. Tafkats thread over on GS has just about everything a person needs to know, in regards to driver latency info. I am using ASIO4ALL right now, which is free, but I am wondering if I should upgrade since it seems every once in awhile, someone mentions another ASIO driver and its advantages. If fact, an interface is often known for the reliability and high quality of its drivers - RME products, for example. Ive never heard about stand alone drivers designed to run for any hardware interface, except for ASIO4all, which is great as freeware, but not as good as a driver made (or adapted) for a specific hardware interface whether its PCIe, Firewire, USB, thunderbolt or whatever. ASIO4All or other generic drivers (Cubase install a generic ASIO Driver), could be less optimised. Also, if you compare two ASIO drivers, you should not trust the reported latency. Some just compute a buffer length divided by the sample rate and not add other unknown overhead. You should measure the latency sending a signal to the output and timing until you receive it (with the output plugged to the input). The Cubase driver causes blue screens for me after a minute or so. I plug it in and it works, but it needs the Apogee driver for the controls to work properly. As its not a plug and play on Windows, I had to buy a third party driver for it to work with Windows 10 -the last Apogee Windows driver for it was for XP 32 bit. Is Apogee the same company that used to make speakers Because I have a pair of Apogee Duetta II speakers I got 30 years ago. I thought Apogee had gone out of business over two decades ago. Ironic they are calling their new product a Duet since their previous one was a Duetta (speakers, that is). Apogee Acoustics and Apogee Electronics were founded at different ends of the US at around the same time. I couldnt find any. I am now the happy owner of an RME pci card, and the latency is about as low as it could get Id guess.
